Peake had the opportunity to work on this project’s architectural and design front. While all-encompassing, it was a joy to see it go from concept to built project.
This rural setting begs for an indoor/outdoor connection, and we were sure to offer that in spades. We created a wrap-around porch to drink in the unbelievable views, a stone-pillared walkout that embraces the Rockies, and a custom-landscaped private pond just steps from the covered patio.
It is all about location here. The exterior is meant to blend with the natural landscape and not compete with it. The roofline mimics the neighbouring mountain’s silhouette, the shingles and cladding blend with the colour palette of the hills, and the stonework looks as if it were taken directly from the surrounding land.
We wanted this home to be at peace with its surroundings, which is precisely what you feel when you have a glass of wine on the covered porch or cozy yourself by the fireplace with a view of the Rockies.
